An interesting and decorative early 18th Century map of Anglo-Saxon England by an unknown cartographer. This type of map is also referred to as a ‘Heptarchy’ as it represents the seven Anglo-Saxon kingdoms (Northumbria, Mercia, East Anglia, Essex, Kent, Sussex and Wessex). This is an original copperplate engraving with later hand colour. Printed area is approximately 30.9cms by 20.4cms. The map is in very good condition with decent margins.
